When comparing two languages, we can see that differences between them are manifested not only in terms of structural patterns but also, more specifically, in various aspects of the specific categorization of reality of each nation. Therefore, while comparing idioms and proverbs, it is necessary to pay attention to the compilation of meanings (semantic combinations) of their parts into overall meaning to be used in real communication. In other words, when comparing idioms or proverbs of two languages, it is necessary to explore connotative meanings related to national culture of each nation.Ở mỗi ngôn ngữ, thành ngữ được tàng trữ và lưu giữ theo cách riêng, do đó, khi những người bản ngữ khác nhau giao tiếp, dù muốn hay không, đều phải bằng mọi cách có được một kênh hiểu biết chung giữa người phát và người nhận.Khi đối chiếu hai ngôn ngữ ta thấy giữa chúng những khác biệt được bộc lộ ra không chỉ ở mặt hình thái cấu trúc mà đặc biệt hơn ở những khía cạnh khác nhau của sự phản ánh đặc tính phạm trù hóa hiện thực ở mỗi dân tộc. Bởi vậy, khi đối chiếu thành ngữ của hai ngôn ngữ cần lưu ý đến sự tạo nghĩa (kết hợp ngữ nghĩa) của các thành tố để tạo ra một nghĩa chung của đơn vị thành ngữ được dùng trong giao tiếp.
